1986 - 1997
The beginning
Industrial Water Cooling is founded in 1986 with aspirations of providing unparalleled engineering solutions to industry. As the company grows, so does the brand and in 1994 the brand undergoes its first brand refresh. The inclusion of the Cooling Tower as an icon in the logo, becomes the first visual representation of the what the company offers.
Concurrently in 1994, the Sulzer Group unbundles and Tektower is registered as a brand. The company however still trades as Sulzer.
1997 - 2012
Creating Simplicity
In 1997, Industrial Water Cooling refreshes the brand again and this time, the change is in the form of a new 2D logo. The name is also shortened using the acronym to IWC and a descriptor line is added… Industrial Water Cooling.
2007 sees the discontinuation of the The Sulzer brand, and cooling towers are now sold under the new Tektower brand.
2012 - 2014
The Confluence
In 2012, IWC rebrands to a simpler, more iconic logo symbol, excluding the descriptor name, Industrial Water Cooling. The reason for the simplification is that the brand has become synonymous with Cooling Towers within the South Africa market and is well intrenched in the minds of the customer.
Fast forward to 2014, IWC acquires the Tektower business and refreshes the Tektower brand in line with the IWC master brand. The Tektower logo now includes the IWC endorsement line and uses the IWC brand colours.
2014 - 2020
One Brand Approach
In 2020, IWC adopts the One Brand strategy approach and Tektower products are incorporated into the IWC brand. The new IWC brand now communicates as one, looking into the future to dominate the entire EPC and package cooling tower market.
